MoneyDocs has no backup server. If you turn cloud protection on, your data is encrypted on your phone and stored in the private folder of YOUR own Google Drive — invisible to other apps, accessible only to you.

Is MoneyDocs really free?
Yes, free and ad-free. Optional premium features may come later, without ever touching current features.
Do I need an account?
No MoneyDocs sign-up, no MoneyDocs password. The app runs entirely on your phone. If you turn on cloud backup, you connect to your own Google account — not to a MoneyDocs account.
What happens if I lose or change my phone?
Two options: manually export a `.moneydocs` package to re-import, OR turn on automatic backup to your Google Drive. With Drive on, restoration on a new phone takes under a minute.
Where does my data go if I enable Drive backup?
Into the private `appDataFolder` of YOUR Google Drive — invisible to other apps, accessible only to you. MoneyDocs has no backup server and never accesses your files.
Is the Drive backup encrypted?
Yes, AES-256-GCM on your phone before upload. Honest limitation: the key is replicated by Google to enable restoration. An 'Enhanced Security' password mode is in development.
Is my data really private?
Yes. Locally encrypted database (SQLCipher AES-256), no tracking SDK, no analytics. Only receipt images transit anonymously to our OCR for extraction, and are not retained.
What languages does the OCR work in?
Any language. The engine processes receipts from anywhere in the world. Only the app interface is translated into 7 languages.
